Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, television personality, philanthropist and also the proprietor and publisher of The Huffington Post. Following her move to England from Greece when she was 16 and obtaining an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. Following her graduation, she became a well-known conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political landscape. The celebrity she enjoyed helped her to convince several celebrities to contribute their opinion regarding current affairs, the as well as politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 as she stood in California's recall vote, in the place of Governor Davis. The project she headed was the Detroit fuel-efficient car project. She was named The Most influential women in media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th place in the list. In the same year Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. In 2012, she became the head of the media division at AOL. It was comprised of several AOL-owned properties, such as Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management consultant and journalist. Though she was close to her father it was her bond with her mother that shaped her character. Even in her formative age she showed the leadership abilities for which she's still known. When she was 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she joined the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first woman and the only president from outside the country. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master's in Economics. In the years following after graduation she was a critic columnist and television host. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
