April Ross

April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball athletes to capture medals at multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and will join the team in Tokyo. In addition, Ross is aiming to capture her first Olympic gold. As she turns 39, it could be her last chance to win the gold medal at an Olympics. Nevertheless, she remains convinced of winning top awards. Ross through NBC Boston, said that when the team performs consistently or well they can earn a gold. This is also the result of luck. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in the year 1982. Her parents and sister resided in the area. Ross played in numerous sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran track, in addition to her volleyball skills in the indoors in her time as a college athlete. Though she excelled when playing indoors, it was clear that her performance was above average. Through her high school years, she played middle blocker outside setter and hitter in the court for volleyball as per her bio at the college. Gatorade Circle of Champions named her the national Player in 1999. She also received the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross Klineman and Ross may have begun working together in 2017, but Ross was already an established player at the beach before they joined forces. It's true that she's been a winner of numerous major tournaments and one of them was an all-star volleyball player. From 2007-2013 she played together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Together together with Kessy Ross, she won an Olympic Title in 2009, while racing internationally. They took home a Silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor took home gold ahead of them. As fate would have it Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They went on to compete for the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross began her collegiate professional career playing for the Trojans of USC following graduation from high school. This was years before Ross hit the beach and became a pro. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was impressive. She was a All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of Year in 2000 as a young freshman. Also, she was one of the key players in helping the Trojans to make it to it to the Final Four. She was devastated by a tragic incident in her second year, but she managed to become an All-American again. During her final two seasons with the Trojans' program they won victories by winning consecutive national championships. In 2003-2004, she was named as the most successful female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the US by The Honda Sports Award. Ross took a course in the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter make it to the top of beach volleyball. Ross's mother Margie died in 2001. Ross was an USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. This meant that Ross continues to be close to her parent who died. In addition, Margie is an ongoing source of inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday life.
