Paula Patton, an American producer and actress, is known for her roles as the lead character in Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol (an action thriller) as well as Precious (a drama). Born into a middle-class family in Los Angeles, she harboured big dreams as a child. Her mother was a movie fan and was a constant source of encouragement to her love for movies as a young person. Paula participated in co-curricular programs at her school and enjoyed drama. Paula was a fan of acting with her classmates as well as participating in school productions. She performed in numerous high school plays at Hamilton Magnet Arts High School and decided to take up acting as a career. Through a program for summer at the University of Southern California, she had a blast there. She won an assignment for PBS to make documentaries for the course of three months. When she was able to complete the assignment successfully, she started working as an assistant for television documentary production. She then moved to produce documentaries. She loved her work, but she still wanted to pursue a career as an actor. She launched her acting career with a small role in Will Smith's romantic comedy Hitch. Since then she has appeared in numerous film and television programs.
